Laura P.

REGISTERED MASTER SOCIAL WORKER

My name is Laura, and I am a proud queer, Colombian woman with Indigenous Muisca roots. The cultural teachings I carry show up through my values of community, connection, playfulness, and humility; interwoven, they shape who I am and how I walk through the world.

I completed the University of Toronto’s Social Work Master’s program, centering Indigenous knowledge, resilience and impacts of intergenerational trauma. I am a registered Social Worker (RSW) and my approach to counselling is relational, grounded in respect, curiosity, creativity, and it is strengths-based because I believe each of us holds sacred wisdom that we can tap into.

My passion and experiences lie in supporting BIPoC and 2SLGBTQIA+ children and youth. I have supported youth navigating a range of experiences from living with trauma, navigating homelessness, grief and loss, relationships, identity exploration, anxiety and depression, self-harm, life transitions and more.

You will often find me singing, writing, dancing, drawing, and/or laughing somewhere. I am a daughter, a sister, a loving partner, and a supportive friend. It would be an honour to walk along side you.
