Accepting ClientsAbout Josh D.
I am a mental health clinician who walks alongside teens and adults, with a deep focus on supporting members of the First Nations community. I draw strength and inspiration from my Métis heritage, and over the past seven years I have devoted my work to therapeutic care shaped around the Indigenous community, learning its particular nuances and honouring its needs.
I completed my Master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Victoria, with a specialization in Indigenous contexts, and my work is client-focused, trauma-informed, and culturally safe. I draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and narrative therapy to support that work. I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and domestic violence, alongside building skills around anger management, self-worth, and family harmony.
I believe trust is the foundation of any meaningful therapeutic relationship, so I meet each client with patience and respect, honouring their unique journey and pace. Reaching out can be the hardest part, and by being here you have already taken a meaningful step. It would be an honour to walk alongside you.
